Roadhost RV Park

OK. So this location was last minute. I found out that our 3rd grader (currently being schooled online), had to return to Scottsdale for in-person State testing. Surprise. Had to get us to the nearest city where we could fly via Southwest, but still head East with TT. We arrived in El Paso the day before Easter, so rushed to dye eggs while the Easter Bunny searched for the closest Walmart (which was completely picked over, but she made it work). We left the day after Easter, for Scottsdale, so we only explored downtown on Easter Sunday.

Roadhost RV was less than impressive. More like a glorified parking lot. There isn’t too much of a selection within El Paso that allows large breed dogs. If they invested for amenities (park, pool etc.), they’d have a great upper hand on any existing competition.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • In the area:

    • Abar @ Plaza Hotel - This was a four star restaurant with a fabulous 5 course Sunday Brunch. Hotel Paso Del Norte, right next door, was built in 1912. Famous guests have included Amelia Earhart, Rudolf Nureyev, President Taft, Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Oscar de la Hoya, Ozzie Osborn, President Roosevelt and many more.

NOTE: If not downtown, all other pics are from our trip home to AZ. Staying at Hotel Cerutti (Grandparents’ house) was a fun retreat to spread out a bit and enjoy a bath or two.
