Lake Pleasant, AZ (take 2)

Lake Pleasant Harbor RV Park
Well, we did it. No more house. No more furniture. No more overpriced utilities.
Turns out, the absence of these things, equates to a lot less stress.
One month at Lake Pleasant was a fantastic landing spot for our family. We were able to finish packing storage unit, organize the TT (and truly decide what we didn’t need) and figure out administrative details for the kids’ schooling.
As I write this review on our last eve, I feel sad to leave our new-found friends, but grateful we have technology to stay connected. I mean, how can you beat a Barbie party in the dirt and simultaneous wine tasting with neighbors?
ANSWER: You CAN’T
We shall be back dear friends!
HIGHLIGHTS:
FAB amenities: clean shower house, nicely stocked convenient store, pickle ball court, basketball court, planned family activities (hamburger / ice cream night), and a heated pool. Dock has paddle board, jet skis, and boat rentals.
GO TO THE HOT TUB! You’ll meet all the neighbors (in their uninhibited form), and learn all about the local gouge.
Mark The Butcher, lives on site, will bring the most amazing cuts directly to your site. Give him a call, and do yourself a favor by grabbing a few 1/2 pound burgers. (602) 418-5647
Chariot down to the Dock / Dillons. When we realized we didn’t need to walk down to the dock / restaurant, but could call a golf cart Uber, my mind was blown. I hope you get Bob the driver - he’s an absolute gem. PS: They work on tips, don’t forget cash. (602) 625-7776
Need a cleaning while on site? Duke’s Detailing. OMGosh - this phenomenal man, lives on-site, and operates an RV cleaning / detailing biz. He is booked solid, so reserve in advance. We happened to slip in, and our rig was shining. Also, Duke, is his dog - who often tags along. (480) 433-7741
Day Trip Ideas: Prescott, Flagstaff, Wickenburg, Strawberry
CASTLE HOT SPRINGS. There’s a reason it’s all in caps. I’m yelling. We’ve stayed at various 5 star resorts, had the swanky hoop-la and felt pampered - but THIS - THIS is a completely different experience. Just 20 minutes from Lake Pleasant. I’ll let you do the research. It is, of course - a secret.
In the area:
Roadrunner Restaurant and Saloon - bull riding on Fridays
Canyon Speedway Park - all American stock car racing - hotdogs - beer - and hands over heart for the National Anthem
Anthem Community Park - this place is a haven for parents - skatepark, playground, public pool with water slides, splash pad, pond, pickle ball courts, and plenty of space to run
SHOULD I HAVE KNOWN:
The full hook-up sites are quite close, with NO view of the lake. The partial hook-up sites have a stunning view of the lake, and all backup to a communal large patch of grass, which is great for kids and dogs… but the wifi is non-existent. And even though we had wifi at the full hook-up spot, after 10AM, it was bogged down and we needed to use our phone hotspot.
